What I Learned Today

What I learned today:

I learned that Mitt and Paul want to make dramatic changes in taxes and entitlements, so that we only go in the hole $500 billion a year instead of $1.5 trillion like we are now.

I learned that Mr. Obama still wants to see Mitt’s taxes, even though he had all his records sealed the day after he took office in 2009. I also learned that Mr. Obama wants to talk about anything other than his record, his continued support of labor unions and their pensions (even thought he ignores non-union pensions) and his cozy relationship with the alphabet networks, while his self styled image crumbles.

What I didn’t learn today:

I didn’t learn how Governor Moonbeam plans to backfill his own trillion dollar California pension void.

I didn’t learn what anyone is going to do about the $15 trillion in unfunded pension liabilities, here in the U.S.

I didn’t learn what America and Europe is going to do with the $200 trillion in worthless investment paper they continue to trade with each other, as if it actually had value.

I haven’t learned why we still send foreign aid to Iraq, Afghanistan and other countries even though they are still doing business with Iran and, in the case of Egypt, who is, as I type, crucifying Christians, simply because they are Christians.

And I haven’t learned when our Leaders are going to start talking to us like adults instead of treating us like a bunch of hormone crazed teenagers watching Jerry Springer or the Kardashians in their single wide trailer parks.

Whereda muny Go

There seems to be a universal ignorance virus coursing through the veins of Republicans, Independents and Libertarians, as to why Obama is blowing through so much money so fast. Well Pilgrims, I will speak very slowly so that those of you who are willfully stupid can understand. I can sum up this phenomena in two words….No Accountability. In other words you can describe it as skimming, a ‘taste’, the cut, the vig…etc., etc.

Let me explain. All the money is counted in Chicago…get it. No money gets counted in Chicago that Obama, the mob, his henchmen, the mob, the Mayor, the mob, the advertising agencies, the mob, the union bosses, the mob, the caterers, the mob, the cleaning companies, the mob, the laundry companies, the mob, office suppliers, the mob, the caterers, the mob, lawyers, the mob, the accountants are the mob. Get it?

I certainly don’t have the actual numbers and rest assured you never will, because there will never be an audit, there never will be an accounting, there will never be anything other than a very fat retirement account somewhere for all those above, paid for by the gullible Democrats that were stupid enough to give donations to a bunch of crooks and expect anything in return.

There, I hope that clears that up. You can now go back to listening to the other crap the media is talking about instead of how to fix this country.

More About Little

With the 20+ thousand acre “Reading” fire and now, just a few miles away, the 15,000 acre Ponderosa fire, not to mention a few other hundred plus acre lightening fires sprouting up like mushrooms, I couldn’t but help wonder what is man facing with all this extra Co2? By all accounts of enviromentalists, civilization will never be the same in the north state. Our glaciers are shrinking, crops are suffering, Co2 related illnesses are blossoming…..NO, um, er, well something is happening….somewhere.

Oh yeah, frothing mouth eco-Nazis are writing up a storm about the death- spiral fueled by Co2. Other than that, pretty much nothing else is happening. Crickets.

But the fallout from these fires is just beginning. Communities, near the fires are being devastated, resources are being squandered, firefighting helicopter companies are getting rich, rich and double rich and Network Televisions are getting their 15 second sound bites. All is good except for the poor schmucks who will have to live with the aftermath for decades.

However, you will not hear a peep from anyone about the amount of Co2 being released from these fires. No one is going to tell you that in one weekend of burning, these fires release more Co2 than all the local co-generation plants release in 10 years. Additionally, you won’t hear about the ash and smoke being pumped into the air. Co-Gens release only steam and small amounts of Co2, no smoke or ash, but you won’t hear about that either.

No sir, what you won’t hear about the fires and their aftermath will be dwarfed by the sensationalism, that is the Media sound bites of suffering and devastation. And next week’s headlines……more about very little.

2012 election for Idiots

If you think the 2012 election is about saving America, You’re and Idiot.

If you don’t know the difference between winning an election and saving a country, You’re an Idiot.

If you think you can avoid a collision with an oncoming freight train doing 100 mph by going the other way at 50, You’re an Idiot.

Ergo, if you think you are going to save America by only going in the hole $500 billion a year instead of $1.6 trillion, You’re an Idiot.

If you are so naïve as to believe that lowering our unemployment to 4.5% will magically heal our festering pustule of an economy, You’re an Idiot.

If you are suffering under the illusion that China will continue to loan us money, without higher interest, and/or gold as collateral, You’re an Idiot.

If you think you can overcome Healthcare inflation (over 7%) without entitlement reform and tort reform, You’re an Idiot.

If you do not understand the crushing burden of $16 trillion in debt, You’re an Idiot.

If you believe in ‘moderate’ Islam and your neighbor believes in ‘moderate’ Progressives, You’re both Idiots.

If you sincerely think that we will sustain our lifestyles with the current field of candidates, over the next 8 years, You’re beyond an Idiot.

There’s not a viable candidate today, anywhere, that is addressing the glut of entitlement abuse, 20 years of oppressive regulation or the bloated, redundant government bureaucracies shackling our economy and freedoms.

No Mo Sarah

Ah ha, it is becoming so very clear why Sarah Palin is not being invited to speak at the RINO convention this month. Paul Ryan, John (wake me when it’s over) McCain, Jeb Bush, Mike (Gravy Goober) Huckabee, Rand Paul, Condoleezza Rice and not even close candidate for President, Rick Santorum. So what’s wrong with this picture? Well, I’ll tell you Barney.

While the parade of RINOs will not bring this up, Mr. Ryan voted for TARP, the Prescription Drug Benefit for Medicare, the auto bailout and a whole host of RINO accomplishments….that we cannot afford.

Now don’t get me wrong, I do not dislike Mr. Ryan, he is probably a really nice guy, who’s good at math. But I must ask you a few simple questions.

What is the difference between hitting a concrete wall at 100 miles and hour and you going 50 head-on with another going 50? Answer, nothing. Or look at it this way, what the difference is between Ryan and Obama is that Obama is coming at us at 100mph, and Ryan wants to turn us around and escape at 50. Oh there is going to be a wreck, but it will just be further down the road. Yeah, like that will save America.

So, question two: Which speaker at the Convention can brag that they cowed Big Oil into paying their state’s citizens, for the oil they pump? Which can claim that they put bureaucrats and politicians in jail (from both sides of the isle) for corruption? Which can show us they can fill the largest venues with hand clapping, feet stomping fans, wherever they go? Which can say that they never lost an election until they teamed up with John McCain?

Yet with McCain, Santorum, Huckabee and Bush, you’ve got three Presidential campaign losers and a former governor that doesn’t even want to be president. Yeah, that’ll knock’em outa the park. Hope they don’t put them back to back or America will be clicking over to I Love Lucy reruns, just to stay awake.

No, Sarah won’t be at the RINO back patting party. She’ll be the trooper out in the weeds getting real Americans busy taking back the Senate.

Award winning Journalist, My Ass

It is time again to take another hard look at our local newspaper, The Mountain Echo and its publisher Walter (everything unfit for print) Caldwell. What has spurred this event is the discovery of the, Society of Professional Journalists Code of Ethics
http://www.spj.org/ethicscode.asp , which clearly spells out the do’s and don’ts of journalism. Unfortunately, all his awards and accolades aside, Mr. Caldwell is provably a serial offender of this code.

Not once, but on numerous occasions Caldwell has been caught mischaracterizing, fabricating or downright misquoting subjects in his articles about the Fall River Mills Community Services District (CSD). He has been (at least over the past two years, since his favorite ex-CSD manager decided to not continue his tenure) at war with the CSD Board in general and our latest manager in particular, despite the accomplishments of the new leadership.

Aiding and abetting this verbal violator, adverb absconder, semi-colon criminal and grammar graffiti artist is non-other than bureaucratic lackey- come-Attila the Hun, LAFCO (Local Area Formation Counsel) director Amy Mickelson. On more than one occasion, Caldwell has printed direct quotes from Mickelson that are not only untrue, but not found in law either. And at least once, Caldwell printed direct quotes from Mickelson to CSD communications that were not received at the CSD until the day the Echo was on the stand. Now that is fast reporting, since the Echo only comes out once a week.

In fact, it has become a competitive exercise to see how many mistakes Caldwell makes between a Wednesday CSD general meeting and the following Tuesday’s Echo. On several Tuesday’s I am left to wonder if Mr. Caldwell and I were at the same meeting, with all the mischaracterizations and outright fabrications. It got so bad that I requested the CSD to announce at the beginning of every meeting: “If anyone from the Press does not understand what took place at this meeting, please ask questions before you leave, so that we will not see your ignorance in print on Tuesday”.

So far they haven’t taken me up on it and have “suffered in silence” since.

A few months ago, after a LAFCO Executive Board meeting, The Echo printed a direct misquote my wife had made at that Board meeting. Problem for Mr. Caldwell was that she was reading directly from a prepared text. Rightfully so, she walked into Caldwell’s office with quote in hand. He printed an anemic correction the next week. Problem is he never learns from his mistakes (well you can’t really call these mistakes, because they are either chronic ignorance or a determined effort to deceive, both wrong on so many levels) and plods forward on a quest to get public opinion against the CSD and its manager.

A few days ago I received a disturbing call from an old friend, questioning the motives and direction of the CSD and its manager. Problem was he was mostly quoting the Echo. I cautioned him that Walt Caldwell was either an idiot or had an unending grudge against the current administration and board of the CSD. I reminded my friend that nobody, I mean nobody, had said a word while the previous 20 years of managers and boards squandered hundreds of thousands of dollars of ratepayer money, right under the nose of the Echo. But they are now are all up in fabricated outrage over distorted and manufactured drama that would make the National Enquirer, The Globe or the Star blush.

But not good ole crazy uncle Walt. He just keeps on cranking out his version of reality, in head to head competition with the best of the Paranoid Schizophrenics on the Thorazine highway.

Our problem, as a responsible community, is to have a vehicle that can rebut the lunacy that is being spread by our sole source of local news. Ergo, you are reading this on Dumbplumber, because the panty wearing ‘wussus’ in the next town over refused to respond to my email request for space in what they represent as a ‘newspaper’. It just goes to show you how incompetent a competing newspaper is when they allow a raving loon to destroy the reputations of good and honest people trying to do the right thing.

Meanwhile, the Dumbplumber is at the helm, bringing you an accurate accounting of what the CSD is doing for the community, and what the misinformed community is trying to do to the CSD. You just can’t make this up, but leave it to the Mt. Echo to keep trying.

Battling Evil and Ignorance

I first want to apologize for not responding to last week’s Mt. Echo’s editor and publisher. Mostly because I knew I was going to just be repeating myself this week and secondly because I was hoping for the inevitable train wreck that is brewing between LAFCO director Amy Mickelson (or whatever she is calling herself this week), and CSD Legal counsel Mark Atlas.

You see, I have to take about one millisecond and figure out who I am to believe; a Bar Card carrying legal scholar with much experience in Community Service and Special districts or a job hopping, serial prevaricator of facts, fabricator of rules and promoter of friction, all designed to thwart, delay and deny CSD’ and Special Districts everywhere of their severely past due Reviews and Reports.

And to make things worse for the Fall River Mills Community Services District, Ms. Mickelson has teamed up with the Mt. Echo’s (private axe-grinder for publisher and editor) Walt Caldwell, whose masthead should read: “The Mountain Echo: All the Bias, Rumors and Innuendo Unfit for Print“. And it doesn’t begin to reflect Caldwell’s inability to compose an accurate headline.

For instance in last week’s Echo, the headline said, “CSD deciding not to cooperate?” When it would have been more accurate to say, “CSD Tired of Getting Hosed.” And then this week, Caldwell continues to play the part of Mickelson’s butt boy with, “CSD gives attorney okay to fight Shasta LAFCO”, when it should have read, “CSD Hires Attorney to Force LAFCO Do its Job”. It really makes that “….sin by silence” thingy over his Editorial page just scream in agony. Because every time he makes one of his moronic statements it’s like fingernails on the blackboard, at the back of your eyeballs.

Nevermind that the entrails of his reporting is a series of incoherent ramblings, disguised as an interview with Ms. Mickelson on the substance of HER view of things. I was particularly amused when Mickelson claimed that she was ever sensitive not to violate the Brown Act, when that was exactly what she was doing last spring, when she showed up at a special meeting, unannounced, and demanded time for a presentation, which, without being on the agenda, was a clear violation of that Act. Still waiting for a response from Caldwell on that comment. ………………Crickets!
