Spanking the AP

It isn’t often I stop and analyze the incompetence, ignorance and complete disconnect on a news story about which the author knows little or nothing.  But it was Thursday’s tripe concerning the struggles within the Republican Party written by Associated Press staff writer, Bill Barrow that finally ground my gears.  Let’s take the first two paragraphs of this story to task:

“Republicans see the 2014 midterm elections as a chance to capitalize on voter frustration   with the problem-plagued  healthcare overhaul, but the GOP must first settle a slate of     Senate primaries where conservatives are arguing about the best  way to oppose President Barrack Obama’s signature law.”

Personally, I would have made that ‘run-on’ into two sentences at “healthcare”, then placed a comma after “primaries”, but hey, I’m just a plumber.  Maybe they have different grammar and punctuation rules at the AP.

But as a writer, Bill needs to know the difference between “healthcare” and health insurance and the difference between “problem-plagued” and abject, total and complete abysmal failure from the moment a Democrat led Congress voted on this POS without having read the bill.

And finally, he represents all Republicans as “conservatives”, which is a little like saying all women are Phyllis Diller.

It is clear by this first paragraph, Bill doesn’t have a friggin’ clue what he’s writing about.  But wait, there’s more!  He goes on:

“In ‘intra-party’ skirmishes from Georgia to Nebraska, the GOP’s most strident candidates and activists are insisting on a no-holds barred approach.  They accuse fellow Republicans --including  several incumbent Senators-- in being too soft in their opposition to the Affordable Care Act and to the president in general.”

At least Mr. Barrow restrained himself from referring to ‘strident” candidates, as Teabagging loons, like many on the MSM.  And it would be far more illustrative to say from Maine to Florida and from New York to California, because no state is immune from the coming 2014 massacre.  As for the “No holds barred”, that’s simply pointing out just how ugly Obamacare is and what it is attempting to do to the United States of America.

And it’s particularly telling when a writer refers to it as the “Affordable Care Act”, which is about as accurate as, “You can keep your doctor“, “You can keep your plan” and the mother of all lies…“It will lower the cost of your health insurance“, as we all now know isn‘t going to happen.  The nom de plume is the antithesis of the developing rollout nightmare.

No, what we have here is a writer blindly weaving an inaccurate and misleading article from whole cloth.  It mischaracterizes the relationship between Republicans as a strident vs. too soft.  In reality it is Conservatives vs. RINOs, with conservatives believing in smaller government, lower taxes, adherence to the Constitution and personal responsibility, while the RINOs are siding with Democrats for the exact opposite.

So you will forgive me when I lurch to the Right when reading such nonsense.  It is patently deceiving, misrepresents the situation and only drives readers to the Left.

Because if you can’t write it Right, don’t write it at all.

The Second Revolution

Maybe it’s time for some clarity on the political split that divides the Right these days.  True Conservatives are now being referred to as Right Wingnuts, the Radical Right, TeaNuts and Whack-o-Birds, depending on which Republican RINO you are listening to.

Yes my friends, being a true Conservative is like the toxic waste left behind at a vintage gas station.  We just have to get it (them) outta there.

So let’s be clear.  When some wobbly Republican Senator or Congressman brags about crossing the isle to work with the other side, what he really means is that he has packed his bags and abandoned every moral and ethical quality he ever possessed, just so he can brag about selling out America once again in the name of ‘consensus’.

So tell me Pilgrim, when was the last time a Liberal crossed the isle and supported a Bill that led to:  Smaller Government, Lower Taxes, Honoring the Constitution or endorsed Personal Responsibility?  Go ahead, I’ll wait!

When you hear cries for consensus, bi-partisanship or political civility, just remember, we have yet to see it happen on the Left.

No, in fact, you cannot cite one example of a successful Bill that contain ‘ANY’ much less than every pillar of the above Tea Party platform.  Nevermind that virtually every law passed and signed by the Marxist-in- Chief, is classic Alinsky.  We have less freedoms, more government and higher taxes….wash, rinse, repeat.  And they call us “Whack-O-Birds!

So you will forgive us on the Right, who no longer trust, believe or vote for the ‘least evil’ on the ballot.  Hell, most of us won’t vote at all for lack of one principled candidate on the ballot.

Yes, it has gotten so bad that the most qualified has been shut out in the primaries for lack of funding, to spread the Word to an electorate, arguably too stupid to vote.  They have been intimidated, had their character’s assassinated, had their reputations callously decimated and their families threatened, all in the name of politics.

It has gotten so bad that this Conservative could make a good argument that America’s salvation will NOT be at the ballot box, but at the end of a very violent second revolution, not unlike what brought us the U.S. Constitution.  A Constitution, which our Congress spurns now, every day they are in session.

Long ignored is the greatest governing document ever written, the U.S. Constitution.  Our Founders made every effort to guarantee individual rights and responsibilities FIRST, states rights SECOND and federal responsibilities LAST.  Tell me, after Congress and the President take their Oaths of Office in Washington, how that's working out.

In fact, it was the Brit’s move to confiscate the guns that sparked the first American Revolution and most likely it'll be Washington D.C.’s similar efforts that will set off the second.

But you won’t read a whit about this possibility from the chattering class of Media Morons too blinded and distracted by the Justin Biebers, the Kardashians or the Duck Dynasty clan to see what’s right in front of them.

No sir, they will be blindsided by what’s right in front of us all, when the first shot is fired against an enemy America voted into power and who abused it at their peril.

Flying Failure

Once again we are assaulted by yet another concept of “flying cars”.  Nevermind that we were introduced to the notion of the flying cars since before Bob Cummings had one in a T.V. show, in the late 50‘s, complete with detachable wings and tail.

Now some Chinese ‘rocket scientists’ have produced preliminary drawings of “THEIR” version, which has front and rear lifting fans, along with center control fans, but nowhere to put either seats, fuel or a motor.  Now I don’t want to go out on a limb here, but the absence of a control center or motor system is starting to sound a lot like an Obama solar panel company.  No plan or end game.

And since these geniuses apparently didn’t see my last post on this preposterous concept, I will again attempt to interject some common sense.

First, we should look at who is the logical customer for this contraption:  The suburban/executive commuter?  Ah, I don’t think so.  Anybody near suburbia knows that a vehicle firing up at 6 A.M. that sounds like a mating of a 50 HP weed whacker and a wind tunnel, will not make the neighbors happy.

How about the gentleman rancher bouncing around his numerous holdings.  Uh, I don’t think so, again.  First these scientific wet dreams fail to mention that they have a very limited flying range.  So, if you think they’ll fly from Montana to Big Sur, you need a reality injection.  Besides, these soaring thrashing machines will scare the Hell out of the cattle and the sheeple.

As I wrote a few years ago, the flying car crowd will have to deal with being too low for FAA regulations and too high for traffic laws.  They will also have to deal with radio towers, high fog and low clouds, overpasses, bridges, helicopters, tall buildings, power lines, buckshot and the occasional 30-06 round, trying to silence the cacophony.

Actually it would be more instructive to figure out who WOULD use this vehicle and WHERE they would be used.  Not in cities, not in the Burbs, not in the outback, which leaves the lonely plains inhabited by a population of overindulgent, very wealthy, techno-challenged, elitist, narcissistic, A-holes, bent on showing off to their neighbors.  Hardly a target market for any manufacturer, much less than one craving a profit.

I can just see one lifting off next door to Joe Biden's house on Sunday morning.

So you can now go back to thinking about things that work and not waste any more time on the pending failures of a flawed plan, without provisions for control, fuel or power.  Just because you can build something doesn't mean you should.

Evolutionist Conundrum

It must be noted that about 450 million years ago our planet was a ball of ice.

Then about 400 million years ago, well after the melting of the ice and much longer after earth’s creation (est. at 4 billion years), Pangaea emerged as the single landmass on the planet.  Since then the climate has evolved, as the landmass has split into several continents surrounding the globe.
The climate has changed, the planet has changed, the plants, animals, insects, fish and every other creature has evolved in one way or another to accommodate changing environments and necessities of survival.

Fast forward to today.  Evolutionists, have for centuries preached the changing of every element of our world, condemning the notion of creationism along the way.  But now Progressives, Atheists, Liberals, Left-Wingtards and other assorted Moonbats are on a mission to STOP what they profess has been going on for a few billion years…..climate change (aka: global warming).

Specifically, climate moonbats have branded C02 as an evil greenhouse gas that must be eradicated.  Nevermind that it is plant food, which energizes the growth of plants and increases fruits, nuts and vegetables, with less water. (I always thought that was a good thing)

Now you can add to that the blaming of cow farts for elevations in methane gas levels, even though the number one producer of methane is …..wait for it, termites.  I also guess the re-writers of history forgot the 60 million buffalo that wandered the Midwest, before evil white men slaughtered them, almost to extinction.  But maybe buffalo are too sophisticated to fart.

Now however, these same Moonbats are promoting the notion that man made global warming (or Anthropogenic Global Warming AGW) is promoting the devastation of man through, rising seas, shrinking of ice caps (even though they are getting bigger) as well as any other bad thing they can imagine.  Nevermind that this fluxuation has been occurring since forever.

No my friends, weather is one thing, climate is quite another.  And for a group that cannot predict, with accuracy, the weather next week, the arrogance of them to control what happens next year or the next decade is lunacy.  And to destroy an economy trying a achieve this task is lunacy cubed.

Stealing an Election

I have often commented that Obama stole the 2012 election.  To which I am criticized as a loon:  They say, “You can’t steal a presidential election”.

Well, let’s review.  Since I’m no Poly-Sci professor, just bear with me.  (Please note that I don't mention the lies, fabrications or soon to be broken promises of the candidates.  That's just a given.)

A)  First you isolate the swing states:  Colorado, Iowa, Florida, Wisconsin, N. Carolina, Nevada and Virginia.  The rest are already gone to one candidate or the other.

B)  Then you mobilize the unions, what’s left of ACORN, political action committees, the MSM and every dog with fleas to focus on those races.

C)  Then you funnel cash into the hands of every voter registration fraudster, corrupt poll worker, voting box courier, and ballot box stuffer you can bribe into saving the election. And we can't forget the computer voting hackers. (There wasn’t one vote for Romney in 59 districts in Philadelphia)

D)  Then you have the IRS investigate, intimidate and stonewall all opposition organizations into depression, while courting the favored party with, illegal information access, rapid tax exemption and non-audit status.

E)  Don’t forget the wheelbarrows of cash from all those bankrupt energy companies that were given billions to fail.  And yet again, deny the military the opportunity to vote.  (We can’t have our bravest involved in this business)

F)  Make sure to expand entitlements, bloat bureaucracies, hand out free phones and EBT cards in the millions to buy every enabled vote.

G)  And the ‘coup de gras’, have your flunkies fudge, fabricate and misreport the ‘employment’ numbers, the job growth rate, the GDP and every other factoid that makes it appear the country is growing while it is actually sinking like a rock.

H)  Don’t forget to enlist the ignorant glitterati in Hollywood to drop your name to the mush-heads that buy their movie tickets and music.  Even ignorant votes count.

See what I mean.  In a close election, theft isn’t just possible (they've been doing it for decades in Chicago), but was most probable in 2012.

It Won't be Pretty

It is often said that we live in a Democracy.  Not so.  We live in a ‘Representative Republic’.

A Democracy is basically ‘mob rule’, where those seeking entitlements gather together to vote themselves endless benefits at the expense of the taxpayer.

A Representative Republic is where the taxpayers vote for representation of the common good.

Good examples of Democracy are Chicago, Detroit, New Orleans, New York and San Bernardino.  (Although San Bernardino is a ‘recovering’ democracy)  All these cities would not exist were it not for subsidies from the rest of the U.S..  Each and every one is in serious economic, moral and civilized decay, held together ONLY by the largess of Big Government.

Problem is: this crisis of decay has extended itself to the states, and alas, the Federal Government, where mob rule has ran out of benefactors and now must rely upon extortion, coercion, outright theft and the printing press to quench the thirst of guzzling, misguided and ignorant voters, who continue to reinstate a government determined to bankrupt itself by throwing away money to charlatans, embezzlers, fraudsters, miscreants and enemies of this country.

The only question that remains is:  Is there an end to this saga?  Yes, my friends, there is an end.  But it ain’t gonna be pretty.

Makes a Difference

“Fifteen hundred years ago everybody knew the Earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was flat, and fifteen minutes ago, you knew that humans were alone on this planet. Imagine what you’ll know tomorrow.”Men in Black 1997

“Now lets consider how fleeting conventional wisdom is: A few years ago the John Edwards case was just the National Enquirer digging phony dirt, a few months ago anyone who thought the IRS was targeting the Tea Party was crazy and at the beginning of the month the idea of delaying Obamacare was a terrorist act.

Two years after ‘Wisconsin’ suddenly the same people, who unlike the Tea Party, were not anxious to stand with Scott Walker because they were convinced he was over the line, courting disaster for the GOP, are now invoking to the US public in general and the viewers in particular, of that same Scott Walker, to judge Ted Cruz and the Tea Party as extremists.

Ted Cruz made a fight that the establishment shied away from. He took on a position for principle not popular with the media and public. He made that fight with lots of risks and little upside and pushed the media to the point where that media made absolutely sure that the entire country knew which party wanted to stop Obamacare and which party with one voice was dedicated to protecting Obamacare from repeal and or delay at all costs….

right up until they weren’t.

If Ted Cruz had not made this fight, when the Obamacare launch came and the problems arose, the media would have talked about how natural such problems were and when Democrats asked to delay implementation it would be sold by the media as not a big deal, the most reasonable thing in the world…instead [they are] trying to explain why it’s necessary to delay a law passed by congress, signed by the president and upheld by the supreme court that they were united in defending as inviolate just two weeks ago, while comedians across the country laugh at it.

[non-RINO] Ted Cruz did this for you, even while you were trying to destroy him.

My exit question for Karl Rove & Company: How many millions of dollars from Big money donors would you have paid to put Democrats up for election in 2014 in such a spot?”

Remember that whole, “just because we raise the debt ceiling, doesn’t mean we will go further in debt”, comment made by Mr. Obama, in the midst of the shutdown kerfluffle? Well, to rest your weary mind, you might know that no later had the ink dried on the agreement to raise the ceiling, America went $328 billion further in debt the next day.

Uni-uniforms

You know you just can't make this stuff up.  The army is about to scrap their $5 billion dollar investment in new uniforms.  Yes, the two uniform system, one for the woods, the other for the desert, is about to be scrapped for a new and improved uni-uniform that works in both scenarios.

Now I don't want to go out on a limb here, but since we're getting our butts kicked by cave dwelling, mutton munchers wearing towels on their heads and flip-flops, I don't think the look of our uniforms is going to do us much good.

Multi-Tool Revenge

As I see it: President Foot Stomper has placed barricades barring folks from entering the National Mall and other national parks. He has clamped them together and wired them to prevent opening. He has run ribbons around lamp posts, trees and garbage cans that read “Do Not Cross” and removed the handles from drinking fountains. Of course, most of these efforts cost us more than leaving the sites open, but there is hope.

I can remove the wire, cut the ribbons and replace the handles with my Leatherman multi-tool. What next, making it illegal to enter Washington D.C. with a Leatherman?

Mis-Posting

This Saturday, September 14, there were two stories in the news that should have been put together.

The first was that the U.S. satellite Voyager has left our solar system. The second: One town has adopted a new rule that pet cemeteries can allow animal owners to be buried with their pets.

Taken separately they don’t have much in common. Taken together, it looks like Voyager wants to be about as far away from our civilization as it can get. Meanwhile folks with pets would rather be buried with them than spend any more time around the idiots that inhabit our country.

Lost Coasting

To all those that have said, “Try It You’ll Like It”, they have never devoted 5 hours of their lives driving down Humboldt County’s Lost Coast. And if you are a bicycle-Nazi, braving that 70 mile loop, from Ferndale around to Hwy 101 above Garberville, you either have a death wish or some misplaced allegiance to merit badges.

No my friends, while subjecting my vintage ‘72 Chevy Blazer to the brutalities of what is kindly, but mistakenly, referred to as a “road”, the reality is that trek is something I would prefer to forget, if only I could get it out of my mind. If there ever were a reason to commission one, a socio/economic/mental stability study would definitely be in order for the residents of Mattole, Petrolia and Honeydew, California.

Now I’m no stranger to isolation and rural living. Coming to California, as a child, in the mid 50’s, our first residence was a 40’ mobile home in the mountains about 20 miles east of Arcata in the Mad River Valley area. The roads were gravel, windy and in many spots single lane and made more treacherous by logging trucks making about 200 passes a day down the road, on their way to and from the woods.

But the Lost Coast highway adds new meaning to the notion of a challenging byway. I believe our average speed was somewhere between 20 and 25 mph. I mused seeing one speed limit sign of 25 mph on one of the more perilous stretches,  “In your dreams”, I said out loud. About the only reward to the slow speeds was the diversity and outstanding views of the land we were passing. Rubber necking all round were us two Boon Dockers.

In about 20 miles and one hour, we descended from a grassy mountain top to a large ranch below. I swear we dropped at least 2000 feet in a mile and a half. I’m no stranger to switchbacks, but some must have been well over 10 percent grade. Enough to make our sphincters pucker and prayers that our 41 year old truck’s brakes would hold out. It would not be our first encounter on pitches designed more for mules, pack trains and Sherpa, rather than motorized vehicles.

Once down, however, the drive up the Mattole River was beautiful, as was the 6 mile stretch on the beach later. Too bad there was more bad than the little good road we endured. Not to be too critical, but it looks like the County road crews just threw out shovels of cold mix asphalt, about the size of cow patties then backed the truck over them for good measure. We did notice that there were many short stretches of smooth pavement. Probably because the road had completely dropped away forcing outside contractors to rebuild the road bed then pave the area. Other than that stretches any longer than a few hundred yards were few and far apart.

Near Petrolia was our most outrageous sight.  Passing by an unfinished, but humongous two story house, I noticed two Zebras grazing in the field. Wifey was late to notice, so she made me turn around for a photo op. Let’s face it, nobody is going to believe there are Zebras in Petrolia unless you bring pictures.

Ranching seems to be the main industry on the Lost Coast, cattle mostly with some goats and sheep. Other than that, there are a couple of schools, 2 post offices, 2 small mom and pop groceries, a CDF fire station, a small construction company (probably cleaning up after the cow patty asphalt repairs) and I’m sure plenty of cannabis growers. I am told that retirees, escaping high density cities, makes up a considerable portion of the area’s population.

Now I don’t want to go out on a limb here, but propane delivery, UPS, Fed Ex, mail truck drivers and Dish technicians must be the most anticipated callers, in and out of the Lost Coast. You know, you can get toilet paper and groceries from Amazon!

I know, if I were going to start a business down there it would be a tire shop, with a front end and brake service on the side. Given the steep terrain, bone jarring pavement and arm wrenching switchbacks, it would be busier than a ‘kegger’ at a frat house. Unfortunately, since the locals have a built-in distrust for new-comers, it would only take ten or twenty years to build a client base.

No, the Lost Coast is a place everyone should visit once. Chances are you will never forget it and better chance you will never go back.

Reading Beyond the Lines

Pundits are now saying that Barack Hussein Obama is merely a passenger on the Ship of State.

I agree, but given he is the last to know anything, he must be riding on the ‘poop’ deck.

It is being reported that Saudi Arabia’s King Abdulluh is brain dead. Well doesn’t that put him in league with anyone who buys oil from him, while he is financing the Jihad against the West in general and America in particular?

Also being reported: That during that “closed door, off the record” meeting between, what’s left of the media, and Eric Holder, the AG told attendees that he wasn’t going to spy on them “anymore”.

On the other hand, he isn’t going to spy on them any less either.

Rand Paul recently announced that, “The Republican Party needs to get ‘Bigger‘”.

Doesn’t it beg the question: How smart do you have to be to be a state?

…………………………….................

Son of former Florida Governor, Jeb Bush, George P. Bush has taken the his first political steps. He is running for a spot as a Texas Land Commissioner.

I take that back, his first political step will be to change his last name.

In related news, Joe Biden is carving out his own political identity. He is now riding shotgun in the clown car.

………………………………............................

What I learned today, Memorial Day: I learned that Marco Rubio has turned into the RINO we all hoped he wasn’t. I learned that Donald Trump has thrown away another million dollars, getting his name in the news, as another soon to be failed presidential candidate. I learned that John McCain snuck over the Syrian border to suck up to the Muslim Brotherhood and I learned that I can buy a ‘97 Cadillac Eldorado with 200,000 miles, on Craigslist for $2000 dollars. Well that makes it a Quadfecta, four idiots all in the same day.

We are being told that the economy is improving. Progressives say it’s because Obama’s policies are working. Conservatives know it’s in spite of Obama’s policies.

Peeing Against the Tide

With apologies, the Dumbplumber has been negligent in posting to his blog. You see, he has been busy investigating, documenting and exposing a low level government bureaucrat, who is systematically plundering and squandering tax and ratepayer money. And he is trying to get it back. You would think this would be easy….Right?

Wrong. No matter how blatant the evidence (meeting minutes), no matter how damning (clear and blatant disregard for the law), no matter how long the offense (going on eight years), no matter how big the loss (well over $1 million dollars), there seems to be little appetite to STOP the poorly concealed, incompetent bureaucrat from continuing the practice.

If these acts were by an individual, they would be prosecuted as a continuing criminal enterprise. If it were by a group of individuals, it would be pursued under the RICO (Racketeer, Influence, Corrupt Organization) Act. But since it is a micro-State agency (2 employees), it is viewed as a force to be reckoned with. Indeed, attempts by at least one of the ‘governed’ to make the agency do its job has led to tens of thousands in extra-ordinary expenses, but with no results. Now THAT is your government at its worst!

Not only has the offending agency been plundering their flock for years, they do so without producing one page of required, mandated reporting for most of them. And yet they demand their dues the same time every year without shame of offense. You would think once you made these facts available to the injured cities, districts and the media, there would be a quick response with appropriate outrage and zeal for an end to the fleecing. You would be wrong again!

After more than 3 months of presenting this theft of public money to the highest losers among the offended, I am awaiting a legal declaration by the lawyers of the victims to decide if the specific State Codes are indeed being violated. Nevermind that an Eighth grader could figure it out in about 5 minutes.

So, as we speak, the offending bureaucrat is receiving a six figure salary and benefit package, under the myopic gaze of those tasked with ending the theft.

Yes, if you’re going to go into the fraud business, there is no better place than the government sanctioned and protected kind of fraud. We are so Screwed.

Ramblings

If any of you have been reading the news lately, you probably know that the RINO GOP is going the ‘Full Weeny’. They are ‘re-branding’ themselves to try an attract the Hispanic--Tran-sexual--Gay--Lesbian--functioning idiot--cross-dressing--Mad-as-Hell--taxi driver vote. Yessir, nothing quite says Grand Old Party like a Hippie bus full of buzzed-out, tattooed laden, smelly, tofu eating, dope smoking, flower wearing losers on their way to the voting booth.

Meanwhile, the MSM are touting the Republican’s efforts as a step into the 21st Century. Yeah, like equating Conservatism with unlimited spending, unending welfare and unemployment, then the inevitable disability claim from Hell, before dropping all pretense of following the Constitution, which clearly states that the federal government shall control all money, food, jobs, healthcare, transportation, firearms, energy, water, and most of all your attitude. In other words….“the beatings will continue until morale improves”.

Even Fox News is waffling on the seriousness of our plight. Apparently content to just report the oncoming train wreck than actually describing what is causing it. This leaves Glenn Beck, who has launched a network almost completely committed to telling the truth about what is going on. And to keep his moderates awake, he salt and peppers the schedule with incredible segments on history, inspiration and capitalism. He has even started his own ‘Dream Labs’ where entrepreneurs develop ideas into a working business. Way cool.

Loving Dead Presidents

It is being reported that Hugo Chavez has amassed over $2 billion, in personal wealth, during his reign as Venezuela’s president.

It was also reported that deposed Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak had plundered over $500 billion during his time in office.

Of course we shouldn’t forget our old buddy Saddam Hussein of Iraq, whose wealth was reported at several billion, most of which was amassed from skimming oil sales and black market imports of banned goods.

However, many of us old crusters can’t forget Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos, who died in office with more than $60 billion in Swiss banks, taken from us because the only exports from Manila, besides pain and suffering is prostitutes.

And we should not forget old pineapple face, Manuel Noriega from Panama. He couldn’t steal enough from U.S. aid, so he invested heavily in the cocaine shipping business, which made him hundreds of millions. His commissary account in federal prison must be huge.

Meanwhile, the U.S. continues to cram taxpayer dollars into Muslim Brotherhood gangs, posing as freedom fighters. No telling how much of that is finding its way into terrorist coffers and unholy retirement funds for jihad leaders.

Nope if you can’t make it in an honest living, you might try moving to some third world dump and get on the U.S. Government dole. No strings, no audits, no supervision, no kidding.

Life is good, when you’re a corrupt dictator, receiving our aid and your country’s average annual income is $90 bucks.

Sequestration What?

Well the Sequester is here. So?

All the media is abuzz about the ‘fabricated’ catastrophes that lay ahead because the Congress and the President have failed to come to terms with out-of-control spending. And to hear the president tell it, the planes will fall from the sky, babies will starve in their mother’s arms, schools will close and Congress and the President will not get their annual pay raises…..well, er, maybe not the last one.

But up here in what we refer to as, “The Real Northern California”, things are pretty much as they’ve always been. In fact, on a day-to-day basis, you can’t tell the difference of today from yesterday or this day last week or last month.

 For instance:

They tell us the traffic lights will cease to work. Well, Fall River Mills doesn’t have any traffic lights and damned few stop signs either.

They say airport security will slow the boarding of airplanes. Ha, there is no security other than an eight foot cyclone fence and a gate that is never locked.

They say police will be slow to respond to 911 calls. Hell, it takes from 45 minutes to 4 hours to get an officer here now. How much slower can it get. In fact, if your call is to report a burglary, you have to travel 25 miles to file a report, if and when the station is open.

They say fire departments will be slow to respond. Yeah well, our department is all volunteer already and they get there a hell-of-a-lot faster than the sheriffs. Besides, if your double wide is on fire, after the first five minutes it doesn’t make much difference.

The mail will be delayed. Oh sure, they have never delivered on Saturdays, since I moved here in '86 and most of the mail is just junk anyway.

And the weakest of all threats, “The Forest Service will be cut back and face some furloughs”. Well, since all they do is drive around in new pickup trucks, carrying only clipboards, I guess counting a few less trees everyday won’t set us back much, since revenue from timber disappeared almost 20 years ago.

Yessir, that whole Sequestration thingy upsetting the president and his media goons doesn’t mean much up here. Dumbplumber

Devil in the Details

This is a response to a Silas Lyons' editorial that slaps around the Redding City Council for NOT mortgaging Redding's future......

Silas, among your metaphors, you might have missed 'streets paved with gold', 'water into wine' and 'Happy Days are here Again'. What you miss is the 'Devil is in the Details', ask Stockton, Ca.

And if you even bothered to review the landslide of grants coming down from Big Brother, you would see that the strings attached put rural America’s most precious resource, water, into complete control of environmentalists, urban power grabbers and the ‘behind the curtain’ boogeyman, the United Nations.

So I would caution you to spend some time with the “Tinkerers” before you start writing future sensational stories about how Big Brother snuck up on rural America and stole its future.

Those “Tinkerers” are fighting to keep OUR water rights, and how they are NOT going to surrender a portion, NOT going to be forced to meter it all and NOT be told how it must be used in the future.

And I find it amusing that none of the “Agenda” calls for cutting 20% of the water in swimming pools, cutting 20% of the irrigated landscaping or cutting 20% of the pressure from big city water systems. No, control and regulation is only for the Mountain People.

So Silas, before you rale against those that refuse to mortgage our future any further, perhaps you might ask those that did it in the past and ask them how the auction is going.

News You Can Use

Has anyone else noticed the irony of an administration who wants to limit American’s access to guns, while sending F16 fighter jets and Abrams tanks to the Muslim Brotherhood, in Egypt, who have sworn to Sharia Law and the destruction of Western civilization.

……………………………….......................

We learn that Hillary was wearing ‘Fresnel’ prism lenses in her glasses during the recent hearings on Bengazi. Fresnel lenses are to deal with double vision. Well, double vision for a double dealing, double talking, double-speak bureaucrat. Why the confusion?

……………………………….........................

In the past gun control advocates swore that one day “Only Criminals will have Guns“. Today they say, “Only Criminals and Professional Body Guards will have Guns“.

……………………………….......................

Just learned that Reince Prebius has been re-elected RNC National Chairman. Let me think….what do they call people that keep doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different outcome?

………………………………...........................

By all accounts Hillary buried the Bengazi Debacle so deep, you will have to send it sunlight with a backhoe. All’s left is her and Obummer on 60 Minutes citing the eulogy.

……………………………….........................

Memo to Reince Prebius and the RNC: You can start with Smaller Government, Lower Taxes, Fewer Regulations and Personal Responsibility.

The rest will write itself.

……………………………….........................

And finally: Many schools are Fed up with the new guidelines for meals in their schools. Wow, hooda thunk it. If kids won’t eat broccoli at home, what makes anyone think they will eat it in a cafeteria full of other kids that hate broccoli?

Grilling Hillary

Hillary’s Bengazi Hearings….Bad questions, Worse answers. But remember, she's grooming herself to be president!

Add the dead bodies in Bengazi to those that have followed Hillary all the way from Little Rock. Not a woman to piss off, ask Vince Foster. Memo to Rand Paul: Watch your back and stay off park benches.

What was missing from the hearings on Bengazi today were the elephants, not in the room, the survivors. They are MIA. They are being held, away from reporters, away from investigators, away from Congressional hearings. Put one of these 800 lb. gorillas in the room and watch Hillary pee all over herself.

Hillary’s moral outrage comes after many decades of being married to Bill. All she has to do is ‘project’ and the rest comes from memory and repetition.

For a woman that has just had brain surgery, has designs on 2016 and has far more answers than interrogators have questions, this is the perfect storm for the Rodham She-Devil.

It was a very busy day for Mrs. Clinton. She sought sympathy for her recent medical condition, cried for the benefit of victim’s family members, juggled fantasy and reality simultaneously, answered questions that weren’t asked, badgered Congressmen when cornered and manufactured moral outrage when all else failed.

Many folks are still shaking their heads that Hillary paid off the multi-million dollar debt from her 2008 campaign on the same week she sat before the Congressmen on Bengazi. Not to worry Hillary, if they won’t audit Obama’s campaign finances, they sure as Hell won’t look at yours.

Everyone can rest assured that the only casualty of this despicable event, besides those that died in Bengazi, will not be Hillary, but that poor schmuck that made the Muslim documentary.

And finally, once again, Hillary was helping the most powerful man in the world dodge accountability for scandalous behavior.

We are so screwed.

Crossing Lotto

Yesterday, it was with some chagrin and a more than a little irritation that I read, yet another, story about an incredibly unlucky, homo sapien being run over by a speeding train. Exercising my 1st Amendment Right, I drafted and submitted my irritation as a response to the story in Redding.com, the Record Searchlight for basement dwellers.

Today, much to my dismay, I saw that my response had been taken down, “Because the attending staff has that discretion, when there is an ‘objection’ to the post”, according to editor Bruce Ross.

Well, that was my fault. With the simpering, whimpering masses converging on Redding.com, like crotch crickets in the Castro, I should have known that my practical, reasoned and comprehensive observations were going to crimp the tender sensibilities of those ignorant of the mathematical chances of this event happening. Let me explain.

At the South St. rail crossing in Anderson, Ca., the width of the rails at that crossing is exactly the same as every other crossing in America, a little over 4’. And with the width of the train, the exposure to an oncoming train is about 8’, give or take. Add to that, the total time the average 80 or 90 car train going through that spot is about 1 to 2 minutes, give or take. And I suspect there are about 6 or 8 trains, per day, taking up that spot, for that amount of time, give or take.

I will clarify again, for those wishing to protest my thesis, that this oncoming train cannot go left or right, up or down and cannot stop within the space that the train’s engineer first spots the intruder. I say intruder, because the train HAS the legal right of way. It is the duty of the crosser NOT to be there when the train is. They cannot both occupy the same space at the same time. Hey, it’s physics, I didn’t make this up.

Now, considering that very few crossers are both deaf and blind, that just leaves the stupid, drunk, drugged (aka stupid) and incredibly unlucky left as “Rail Road Kill”. But it gets better. Considering that each train only requires about 2 minutes max to pass, at no more than 8 trains a day, that’s only 16 minutes out of 24 hours that you cannot occupy the rail bed.

So what we have here are chances well beyond shark bites, lightning strikes and falling off Mt. Rushmore on a Brahma Bull as chances of death.

For Christ’s sake, we are entering the realm of winning the Lotto, as more likely than getting hit, much less killed, by a train. It certainly rates right up there with buying the first Batmobile for $1, then selling it for $4 million.

Of course the chattering masses, when not deleting my posts, were all twitterpated at the notion that it could have been suicide. Well duh, but what’s the point of pointing out the obvious? The guy won’t be doing it again and those that admire him for it, will not be stopped being a copy cat, unless either their parents smack them upside the noodle at an early age or they have a come-to-Jesus moment first. Forget them being discouraged by any new knee-jerk Law.

No sir, you really have to work at it to get run over by a train. You have to IGNORE the right of way, you have to IGNORE the train horn, you have to IGNORE the coming rumble, you have to IGNORE the crossing bars, lights and alarms, you have to IGNORE the surrounding citizens waving their arms and yelling obscenities, you have to IGNORE just about every sensory protection, including the common sense to get the Hell out of the way. YOU’RE IN THE WRONG PLACE AT THE WRONG TIME…STUPID. WAKE UP AND SMELL THE DIESEL.

I guess my misplaced frustration is with the victim and not those that wile away the hours grieving for him, when they should be grieving for the engineer.  Grief was foist upon him, through no fault of his own. This disaster, by definition, may not be his first. But you know it’s something that, unlike the self inflicted victim, he will have to live with this forever.

Gun Control Response

This is a response to a local newspaper editor, who doesn't see any problems with President Obama's Commission on Gun Violence Recommendations:

Well Bruce, I have several objections. But first I must state that not ONE of these items came from our President, not one. He had a staff of Big Government types sit down and figure out how to further intrude into our lives, while law enforcement isn’t enforcing the laws on the books already.

Two: It is no business of a doctor to know if anyone possesses a gun. And it certainly isn’t their job to ’rat’ on anyone if they do….unless the doctor has intimate knowledge that the patient is about to hurt themselves or someone else. You might tell this president to leave the doctors alone, he has done them enough damage already.

Three: It is none of my business if my neighbor on the left wants to sell his legal weapons to the neighbor on my right. Furthermore, it’s none of the president’s business either. I prefer that both my neighbors have guns and will use them to protect me and my property, because law enforcement sure as Hell can’t.

Four: Please point out to me which of these proposals would have prevented Sandy Hook, the Aurora massacre, or any of the recent spate of killings that has the media apoplectic?

Five: If gun control works, why is the president’s home town of Chicago almost the gun murder capitol of America? It appears that gun control is anathema to reducing gun violence.

Six: With America going in the crapper, why is this clown even considering more gun control. What we need is the Media to STOP glorifying these random events on the 24/7 news cycle. Then we need them to STOP attaching these violent acts to the hundreds of millions of peace loving citizens that own guns. Show me one place where citizens are disarmed and there is peace. Forget Prisons. Enough already.

Seven: This president wants EVERY gun in America to be either confiscated or registered. That was the exact plan introduced by one whacko in Germany in the late 30’s and we saw how well that worked out. Get a clue Bruce, buy a vowel. This isn’t hard, it’s HISTORY.

And Eight: Not a word about putting out-of-work veterans to work protecting schools. Oh, no, no. What we're gonna do is hire more ""UNION"" cops for the job.

Way to go Bo-Bo.

Obama Who?

One of the things I hate to do, when blogging or just writing, is to repeat myself. But with Obama, I find myself repeating, repeating and repeating the obvious, probably because America, on November 6th, demonstrated it is one of the dumbest countries on the planet. Let me explain.

I have often described Barack as a Communist/Socialist/Fascist. All true, not because he is all these things, but because he is a little of each, and then some. He is also a pathetic, narcissistic, double dealing, back stabbing, manipulative, double talking, divisive, Constitution hating, power hungry, crony capitalist, underhanded, union corrupted, sorry-assed example of American leadership. But then that also represents a good portion of our Congress, which is not a good combination, when the two are working together against America.

It has been our misfortune that the news of this combination has been suppressed by Big Media, who hasn’t just ignored these vile qualities, but has actively supported the policies, regulations and oppressive taxes foisted by Obama on America. This is REALLY not a good combination.

But like all bad things, eventually the rubber is going to meet the road. And in this case, the rubber has center punched the soft spot of America, the 2nd Amendment. Now you can argue that “America wants gun control”, but you can’t argue that America has more private gun ownership than the Chinese and India armies combined…..and are buying hundreds of thousands more each week.

You see, America had one incident where a monarch was attempting to disarm them and it didn’t work out well for the monarch. Too bad Obama missed that day of history class at Harvard. As well as he has overestimated his ability to seize America’s guns today. Because between the hundreds of millions of weapons already in the hands of our citizens, when the patriots of our military stands down in support of our Constitution, he won’t have a snowball in Hell’s chance of surviving the move.

Falling under--Careful What You Wish for Mr. President-- because your true colors are even being seen by those that have supported you AND posses guns.   Mark this decision in the sand because crossing it might just be your undoing.

It's the Spending Stupid

Washington, D.C. has a problem, a big problem. Conservatives, along with most RINOs will tell you it’s a spending problem. Liberals will tell you it’s a revenue problem. (shorthand for not enough taxes). Dumbplumber will tell you it’s a painful ignorance problem, because neither the Right or Left has the integrity to tell you they lack the moral authority to stop waste, fraud and corruption. In D.C. spending other people’s money is the rule, not the exception. Justifying where it went is NOT a job requirement.

And this isn’t a case of lack of evidence. Because whether it is Medicare, SSI, the EBT program, the Farm Bill or a host of other government give-aways, there exists a paper trail even Inspector Clousseau could follow. Which begs the question, why isn’t anyone tracking this waste down and cleaning it up?

From the Carnival Barker-in-Chief down to the lowliest bureaucrat, they will tell you that they have cut the waste to the bone. However, from the CBO to the last Inspector General, they will tell you that between SSI and Medicare, the fraud eclipses a half a trillion per year. And not to point out the obvious, but if you can’t cancel an EBT card used at a massage parlor, liquor store or Indian Casino, well then don’t apply for a position as a Wal-Mart greeter.

And the irony is the 24/7 news cycle has become a sideshow instead of an expose‘. The focus has become the struggle between Democrats and Republicans, like a WWF Smackdown, rather than anyone saying, “Where the Hell Is My Money going“? Neither side cares, nor is willing to act, but rather spend their time on the Congressional steps and Sunday news shows blathering on about each other.

Of course, the short and easy answer is to put a bounty on the waste and fraud. Let those lacking ‘power, control and getting re-elected’ genes receive a reward for shutting down the corruption that is bankrupting the nation. Nevermind that Medicare fraud alone could finance another three wars on top of the ones we have now.

There should be a 'time out' penalty for the Pin Heads, who still blame Bush for our fiscal nightmare, instead of a slot on the evening news cycle.

If “Gun Free Zones” worked they’d be around the White House and Capitol Hill. They don’t and they aren’t, end of story.

Dot Connecting

There are those that couldn’t ‘connect the dots’ if the dots were tattooed on the backs of their hands. Take California’s notice of a drop in children at their schools. Myopic California, not unlike the elitist Northeast, are beginning to wake up to the possibility that there won’t be any young workers to bleed dry in a few years to pay for the bloated government and never ending welfare society, they have created.

California is even unhappy they are losing much of their immigrants (read illegal aliens), because while they breed like rats, they also are looking for a place to work.

Quite frankly, a 5 year old, given a picture of what California is doing, would pack their bags and move to Texas tomorrow. It’s just that simple. You go where work, a promise of opportunity and hope for prosperity exist, and it doesn’t exist here.

Oh that’s unless you’re a computer programmer or computer engineer. So if California is pinning its hopes on Palo Alto to suck it out of the ditch, think again. Palo Alto could easily move to Amarillo next week and Sacramento can’t. Let that be the shot across your bow.

This is not a phenomena, it’s an integral part of history. Today the Greeks and Spaniards are bailing out to greener pastures because their governments have failed them. At least the Vikings had a better reason to abandon Greenland, leaving behind the older generation….the cold.

Sacramento doubling down on Greece and Spain, is trying its best to prove, once and for all, that ‘you can’t stop stupid‘. Try as they might to tell us otherwise, there’s no way to sugar coat the reality…..big government, bigger taxes, more control over free enterprise is NOT a winning combination for pay-as-you-go government.

No my hopelessly naïve friends, if you believe California, with the environmentalists, socialist/Marxists/power hungry/big government politicians and Hollywood Liberals running the show can put together a winning plan, I’ve got a Dot Factory in Nowhere to sell you.

Mapping Tragedy

It's now all the craze to make fun of the maps being created showing where owners of ‘legal’ weapons live, including law enforcement officers. Nevermind that you can’t make a map of where ’ILLEGAL’ gun owners live. Nor can you make one of where legal owners used to live or where they will live a week from now.

The notion that you are going to ‘out’ the place where every owner of a legal weapon lives, to stem future mass murder, is ridiculous. And what’s the point? Only a scintilla of the gun murders are committed by ‘legal’ gun owners any way.

However, there’s apparently one concept that has missed the attention of the gun Nazis. The location of every person getting LEGALLY prescribed mind-altering narcotics, taken either alone or in tandem with another drugs, shown to produce aggressive, paranoid, delusional or otherwise psychotic behavior in patients. Remember, this information is readily available, but considered confidential.

Now overlay that map with the location of all males between 18 and 35 that are still living in mommy’s basement who survive on a diet of Jolt Cola and Cheetos, while spending otherwise productive hours playing violent video games, depicting the wholesale slaughter of perceived and fabricated animated enemies with automatic weapons, bombs and heavy artillery.

Then overlay that map with the location of all those that bow at the alter of the likes of Michael Moore, Piers Morgan, Sean Penn, Rosie O’Donnell, Nora O’Donnell, Lawrence O’Donnell (Hell, all the O’Donnells) or any of the loons on MSNBC, and you will have pretty much pinpointed the location of future mass murderers.

However, while the ACLU will ignore the rights of legal gun owners, they will fight tooth and nail to protect the privacy of those basement dwellers, who busy themselves with constructing, devising and executing mass killings, the rest of us will have to endure 24/7 on our news cycles for the two weeks following their assaults. And then the inevitable call for gun control after.

Our only reward is that the murderers usually take the easy way out with one shot to the twisted noodle, saving taxpayers tens of millions in investigation, prosecution and incarceration of the offenders. But not to worry, law enforcement will spend those tens of millions anyway.

Better Never than Late

Apparently the Senate--I’ll get to the House later--has learned nothing from the passing of Obamacare. You know, the 3,000 plus page monstrosity that most lawmakers STILL haven’t read and are just now feeling the sting from those that have.

Yes Pilgrims, from the best sources available, has gone and done it again. And they still haven’t read Obamacare.

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/guess-how-much-time-the-senate-took-to-review-its-154-page-fiscal-cliff-bill/

It is becoming painfully obvious that any really bad Bill emanating from Liberals is being held off until the last minute, so that anyone voting NO will be lambasted in the media for hating America, nevermind that the Media hasn’t read it either. But then, the Media is never responsible. Like: What’s a Bengazi?

It has been a long time since anyone has demonstrated to me the meaning of ‘geometric progression’. I’m beginning to believe that Congress may be doing it now. You know, one bad idea becomes two, then four, then eight, then sixteen…..I think you have finally got it, Ollie!

Blaming Brinksmanship

A recent AP story in our local paper claims that Brinksmanship is tainting the fiscal cliff talks. I say, Brinksmanship? Brinksmanship! It’s such a screwed up word that the Thesaurus doesn’t have another word that describes how screwed up it is.

If this is how this Country is to be ran, it is time for either another revolution or for some very skilled Patriots to exercise their 2nd Amendment Rights. When we got down to whether or not Congress extorts more ransom from the taxpayers, because they have pledged over a trillion more each year than we give them now, it’s time for some adults to end the Parties.

The cry for more, More, MORE in taxes is drowning out any whimpers for less, Less, LESS in spending. It is so bad, that even asking for ending waste, fraud and corruption in SSI, Medicare and the Farm Bill isn’t even on the table. And that number could well eclipse over $500 billion a year. Or well over the cost of all the wars we are funding each year.

It doesn’t take a crystal ball to see that none of this is going to have a good ending. And with the president announcing that he is going to be coming after this nation’s private arsenals, the bad may well come long before the good.
http://www.bob-owens.com/2012/12/what-youll-see-in-the-rebellion/

There are many among us who haven’t just read between the lines, bur are actually reading the lines, and their deepest fears may well spark the action that our Congress lacks. And the resulting catastrophe isn’t about black and white, Left or Right, but between right and wrong. Too bad Congress didn’t see this coming.

I suspect the next big AP event will make Sandy Hook look like a day in the park.

What He Says

It is often said that you need to watch what Obama does and not what he says, to understand the man. I say, hogwash, humbug, horse hockey, bohunk, horse feathers, bull pucky. To understand this charlatan you need only to decifer what he means when he speaks, to understand what is about to be shoved up your sphincter.

For instance: When Obama says, “We need to Invest in Education”, that means he wants to shove another boatload of money into under-funded teacher pension plans, to pad the teacher union lackey’s salaries and hire more incompetent teachers to keep our kids dumbed-down. Nevermind that a huge chunk of this money ends up back in Obama’s campaign coffers (read retirement fund).

When Obama hypes his “Infrastructure Stimulus” spending, it’s shorthand for dumping hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars into bloated, repetitive, redundant and often unnecessary ‘union’ construction projects. (Please note that NOT one penny of this stimulus goes directly to non-union construction companies. Which means that over 90% of working America never sees a dime of direct stimulus, even though those companies are just as qualified and a whole lot less expensive, when building roads, bridges and airports, than their union counterparts.) It's sort of 'trickle down' Obama style.  Unions get the cake, non-union gets the crumbs.

And when He says he wants to spend more billions on “science and technology”, you can bet he's funneling more billions to NASA, for their Muslim outreach projects. Or better yet, he wants to piss away more tax money on “green technology” that doesn’t meet the muster of his Green Energy Agenda.

Which brings us to the Green Energy boondoggle. Never Has so Much Been Spent on So Few to Produce So Little.  Tens of billions have been thrown at companies destined to fail before they received the first taxpayer dollar. Then to add injury to insult, taxpayers are hammered again, with the endless federal subsidies required to keep these inefficient, uncompetitive and impractical projects afloat.

No my friends, the Hustler-in-Chief has us by the ’short hairs’, feeding us dog food and telling us it's filet.  Meanwhile our representatives in Congress busy themselves with Congressional waivers and pay increases while professing that they feel our pain.  It's enough to make Putin blush.

We Are So Screwed.
